What is a Nvidia Graphics Driver?

Nvidia is an American multinational company that is well-recognized for manufacturing graphics cards. All high-end gaming computers use the latest Nvidia cards. Video editing, gaming, graphic designing, or making 2D or 3D animation requires a good GPU and the latest graphic cards for smooth performance.

A driver is a connector that connects the card to the computer’s operating system. Although Nvidia makes excellent quality cards, problems might occur due to the driver or System’s incompatibility, and errors saying, “The Nvidia graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows.”

Why is Your Nvidia Driver not Compatible?

“This Nvidia driver is not compatible” issue may occur due to many reasons.

The first reason could be that the driver is problematic and damaged. It can easily be fixed by reinstalling the driver using Driver Easy or by manual reinstallation method.

Another reason could be the operating system. You need to check whether you are using a 32-bit operating system or a 64-bit operating system. A 32-bit operating system can’t work with 64-bit drivers and vice versa because they have distinct structures that won’t work with any other driver.

The problem might also arise in the Windows version that you are using. Nvidia drivers can only work with Windows Version 1511 (November update) with a Codename “Threshold 2”. You can check your Windows version in Run Command.

Sometimes, when you’ve installed Windows 10 version 1803 or above, the error message “Nvidia driver is not compatible with this version of Windows.” might show. Although there is no difference in performance between the DCH and Standard Driver, the DCH drivers are of small size, and the installation method is different.
